Alright so if it's not obvious already, i really like the film The Thing from 1982. However what's confusing to me is why fans believe Childs to be a thing in the ending??? It's pretty obvious that's not the case, ain't it? If you think i'm just talking crazy, first of all plz atleast hear out my points.

First of all Childs has a earing at the end of the movie, which should be pretty impossible for the thing to recreate. While there's no direct confirmation i could find online, that the thing can't clone inorganic matter... The Thing still has to find new clothing everytime it kills/takes over someone. Like in that scene where the group finds bloodied ripped up clothing, meaning the Thing probably can't recreate it.
